Old World < New World

Over the summer, we started working on a kitchen renovation for a client who was putting her home on the market.  The home was built in the mid-70's and was in need of a makeover. The client purchased the home about nine years ago. The distaste for their kitchen was very real. In reality, they hated it but never knew what they wanted to do with it.

The kitchen was beyond the need for an update. The cabinets were barely hanging on for dear life and the paint seen better days. The client's style was more of an old world fantasy of a French chateau in the countryside, and couldn't bare the look of something little more modern.  We gathered many great ideas, and while the client still wasn't sold on a more modern kitchen, she understood the home was going to be sold, and she would be able to do what she wanted at the next houese. Our client was also on a budget, and knew she couldn't go overboard. We decided to us Ikea cabinets and hardware, reusing the exsisting appliances. We also chose a cheaper quartz counter top that allowed us to stay within her budget. While we didn't give our client the dream kitchen she always wanted, we created a space where the new homeowners can enjoy a clean, and more modern kitchen for years to come.

Just looking at the new kitchen you can see a MAJOR difference between the two.  Using light finishes and cooler metals, we were able to make this kitchen look young and fresh. The contrast between the white cabinets and duel counter tops make the space seem more upscale and comfortable.

This Face lift has made the kitchen a place to enjoy a nice glass of red wine, while you gossip over a cheese board with your closest girlfriends!
